7 Nollywood Actresses Who Tried Music And Failed

It’s always easy for celebrities who started off has singers to make the switch to acting. We’ve seen Falz, Dr Sid take major roles in movies, and we’ve seen movie cameos from M.I, Davido among others.

But that’s not the case of those who started off as actors/actresses. It’s never easy making the switch from acting to singing.

But many Nigerian actresses are attempting it. Big stars you won’t believe have all tried their hands at music and failed.

These Nollywood actresses have released one album or single, then faded into musical obscurity. We love their acting and we wish they will just stick to that.

Music isn’t for the dabblers, I bet these actresses wish they can take back their failed music careers:

1. Genevieve Nnaji

In 2005, actress Genevieve Nnaji decided to release a song, “No More.” Nigerians were not pleased by her efforts. The famous actress went underground afterwards amid the backlash.

2. Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh’s cross from Nollywood into music was also not successful. Her singles “Get High” and “It’s over” were not received well by a majority of Nigerians.

Our ears were happy to see her return to Nollywood.

3. Ebube Nwagbo

This actress decided to go the route of the Igbo gospel genre. Her music career simply faded into obscurity after one album.
