Bello Ifo, secretary of the council, in a statement on Thursday, said that the suspension was with immediate effect.
Kofar-bai was stripped of his post of ‘Magatakarda’ pending the determination of a criminal litigation against him.
He is standing trial for an alleged rape of the teenage girl in Katsina two weeks ago.
He was alleged to have raped the victim when she was sent to his house by her father, who was one of his servants.
After the incident, the victim informed her parents who took her to the hospital for medical treatment.
Subsequently, her parents reported the matter to police, which led to the arrest and detention of Kofar-bai.
The coalition of civil society organisations in the state have been mounting pressure on the police to ensure justice in the matter.
