After the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba, disclosed to the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, that available records show that Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi) graduated from the institution in 2000, Sahara Reporters‘ publisher, Omoyele Sowore took to Facebook to share contradicting documents.
Sowore shared photos which he claims are from some pages in the convocation brochure of Dino Melaye’s alleged graduating set.
In the photos shared, Melaye’s name was not present in the list of graduating students with Third Class (BA Geography) degree.
Sowore wrote on Facebook:
“AVAILABLE RECORDS: Daniel Jonah Melaye name also missing from the list of Geography BAThird Class category in the (Joint) Convocation Brochure of Ahmadu Bello University which combined graduating students from 1998/99-2000/2001 sessions.”

In a similar development, the page where ABU alumni are listed on its website is saying: “under construction”. This comes after it was reported that the senator’s name was not found in the list, which was previously available on its website.
